ENGINEERS... Are Province Qualified!
BCIN House Designers ... Are Province Qualified!
Truss Sales Reps/Truss Designers (guys in a lumber yard and/or their secretaries using truss engineering software and often indicated as the "designer" on the truss placement guide - the persons who, from what I saw with my own eyes, are in reality completing THE FIRST STEP IN THE TRUSS DESIGN PROCESS... ARE NOT PROVINCE QUALIFIED!!!
It is these same persons who are often designing the actual truss drawings (for spans up to 120 ft) that then go to engineers who, in theory, are supposed to review the truss documentation for technical accuracy!
IN THEORY AND IN PRACTICE, HOWEVER, ARE OFTEN WORLDS APART (as clearly evidenced in the "Smoking Gun" letter from the Professional Engineers of Ontario in 2007 - an issue - until now - well hidden from the public!
THE DESIGNER IS RESPONSIBLE...
BUT... THE TRUSS DESIGNER IS NOT DEFINED...
A MATTER OF... "QUALIFICATIONS"!!!
THE KEY TO IT ALL... A MATTER OF QUALIFICATIONS...
