TRUSS INDUSTRY TROUBLES... THE MANY PLAYERS... THE MANY LIABILITIES!!!
If there is ONE group that can cheer the "Cassidy's Calamity Judgment" it is certainly, in my opinion, that of "Builders". Builders build based on plans PRE-APPROVED by municipalities and plans designed by QUALIFIED persons (BCIN home designers, truss design engineers, etc.).

In my opinion, given the facts of our case and the fact that we were given "the wrong truss" in an exterior load-bearing wall next to a cathedral ceiling, making it such that the truss and the exterior wall could NOT be properly braced, I see no reason why builders should be held liable in these cases and as such, "Cassidy's Calamity Judgment" will certainly be of value as builders attempt to shield themselves from liabilities beyond their control.

The fact that the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) and Tarion also KNEW of problems in the truss industry YEARS ago and appear to NOT have communicated this to builders would only further, in my opinion, make a case for the argument that builders should NOT be held liable in these issues!
