TRUSS INDUSTRY TROUBLES... THE MANY PLAYERS... THE MANY LIABILITIES!!!
First Nations
Garden River Truss (the truss manufacturer that had provided our trusses) and that had employed Marc Levasseur (our B.C.I.N. province qualified designer) as a technical truss sales representative, was a FIRST NATIONS corporation. In addition, this corporation had been set up with the assistance of taxpayer dollars!

Shortly after our problems surfaced, Garden River Truss was "sold off".

Given the many "associations" between Marc Levasseur, City of Greater Sudbury Building Services, The Sudbury and District Builders Association, The City of Greater Sudbury Growth and Development Liaison, and Garden River Truss which used Alpine System's truss engineering software (Alpine Systems is a division of IL Tool Works), and the fact that shortly after our problems surfaced, this First Nation corporation was "sold off", it is my opinion that any investigation into criminal matters should also look at these many "associations" for any potential wrongdoing.

It is important to note that because First Nations do NOT fall under provincial building codes but rather under National Building Codes, any issues pertaining to this First Nation Corporation would have had to be addressed by FEDERAL enforcement bodies.

Yet, in spite of our concerns having been raised with the FEDERAL government - through various agencies, including Minister of Industry Christian Paradis (via Minister of Finance Jim Flaherty) and the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation which had provided funding for Garden River Truss, AND the Minister of Justice of Canada Rob Nicholson, all we received were "not my job" letters and/or no response whatsoever!
