The fact that taxpayers now had many issues before them was clearly self-evident.

Perhaps not so "self-evident" however, was the fact that breach of public trust was a CRIMINAL offense and one where, if found guilty, persons could be found PERSONALLY liable in addition to having other judgments and/or sanctions imposed upon them.

Instead of simply allowing politicians and public servants to constantly just "walk away", perhaps the time had come to demand true accountability by those in "public service".

Did governments - and the PRESS (especially if paid for by tax dollars) - in democratic countries - not have a DUTY to the public in public safety issues such as these - issues which could cost taxpayers huge amounts???
