Title Insurance Caps... As Signs Of Problems!
If there was one true sign of problems in the municipality of the City of Greater Sudbury, it was the fact that 2 major Title Insurance providers had placed title insurance caps of $30,000.00 for claims originating in the City of Greater Sudbury... at the time ... one of the only communities in Canada to have such caps imposed by insurance providers.

Furthermore, the "Pilot Project" initiated by the City of Greater Sudbury with Title Plus (at the time, the 4th largest provider of title insurance in Canada) was, in my opinion, "a scam" on the people of the City of Greater Sudbury. This "Pilot Project" was supposed to look at "open orders" on homes prior to their purchase. The City of Greater Sudbury KNEW that problems such as those in our case would NEVER have been caught in such a "Pilot Project" because NO ORDER WAS EVER ISSUED AGAINST OUR HOME IN SPITE OF THE STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY ISSUES!!! In my opinion, the FACT was that a municipality probably would NOT issue an ORDER against a home and upset the homeowners further if it was the MUNICIPALITY that was THE PROBLEM in the first place because it had issued a building permit that should NEVER have been issued given the structural integrity problems clearly in the truss package submitted as part of the building permit application!

LET ME BE CLEAR IN SAYING THAT TITLE PLUS DID NOT APPEAR TO KNOW OF THE ISSUES PERTAINING TO OUR CASE UNTIL AFTER THE "PILOT PROJECT" HAD BEEN ANNOUNCED TO THE PUBLIC VIA RADIO. IT WAS UPON HEARING THE RADIO SHOW THAT I HAD CALLED TITLE PLUS TO ADVISE THEM OF "THE ISSUES" THAT WOULD CLEARLY BE MISSED IN SUCH A "PILOT PROJECT". WHAT THEY DID OR DID NOT KNOW FROM INFORMATION FROM CITY OF GREATER SUDBURY, THE MMAH AND/OR ANY OTHERS, I HAVE NO WAY OF CONFIRMING!!!
